From Sligo town, head to the Bus Eireann station located at 1-3 O'Connell Street. Take the Bus Eireann route 975 towards Ballymote. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Ballymote bus stop, exit the bus and head south on Main Street toward the junction with the R294.

After exiting the bus, continue walking south on Main Street for about 300 meters. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the R294 road. Follow this road for roughly 1 kilometer. You will see signs for Ballymote Castle, which is located on your left in Carrownanty. The castle is set in a park-like area and is visible from the road.
