Walking
From Sligo town center, start at the Sligo Bus Station located on Quay Street. Walk towards O'Connell Street and turn right. Continue straight until you reach the corner of O'Connell Street and Wine Street. Cross over to Wine Street and keep walking straight. You will pass the Sligo Abbey. Continue on until you arrive at the junction with the N4 road. Turn left onto the N4 and walk along this road towards the town of Donegal. Once you reach Donegal town, follow the signs to Donegal Castle located on Castle Street. The castle is situated at Saint Helenes, Castle St, Donegal.

Bus
From Sligo, head to the Sligo Bus Station on Quay Street. Look for a bus service that operates between Sligo and Donegal. Bus companies such as Bus Éireann provide regular services. Board the bus heading for Donegal Town. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Donegal Bus Station, exit the station and walk towards the town center. Follow the signs to Donegal Castle, which is located on Castle Street. It is about a 10-minute walk from the bus station.
