From Sligo town center, head towards O'Connell Street and find the nearest bus stop. Take Bus 480 heading towards Ballina. You will need to get off at the stop called 'Aghamore'. Once you get off the bus, walk along the R287 road. Follow the road for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs for Dooney Rock Forest as you approach the entrance, which is on your left. The walk should take around 20-30 minutes.
Walking
If you are closer to the Sligo Train Station, exit the station and walk towards the main road, then turn right onto the R287 road. Continue straight for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the Dooney Rock Forest entrance on your left. This walk will take around 30-40 minutes.
Cycling
For those with a bicycle, start from Sligo town center and cycle along the R287 road towards Aghamore. The distance is about 2.5 kilometers and will take approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your speed. Look for the entrance on your left as you approach Dooney Rock Forest.
