Bus
From Sligo town, take Bus Eireann Route 480 towards Manorhamilton. Board the bus at the Sligo Bus Station on O'Connell Street. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop for Dromahair. From Dromahair, you will need to walk to Slishwood Forest, which is about 2.5 km away. Head east on the R286, then turn onto the forest access road, following the signs to Slishwood Forest.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Sligo town, you can take a scenic route that involves walking approximately 7 km. Start at the Sligo town center and head north toward the N4. Follow the N4 for about 1 km until you reach the turn-off for the R286. Follow the R286 for about 5 km, which will take you through beautiful countryside. Look for signs directing you to Slishwood Forest, and turn onto the access road leading into the forest.
Bicycle
You can rent a bicycle in Sligo town and cycle to Slishwood Forest. Start by heading north towards the N4, then follow the R286 for approximately 5 km. The bike ride is relatively flat and takes you through scenic landscapes. Once you reach the access road to Slishwood Forest, park your bike and enjoy the trails within the forest.
