Public Bus
From Sligo City Centre, walk to the Sligo Bus Station located at Quay Street. Take the Bus Éireann route 477 towards Ballina. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for Agharrow. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Agharrow, walk towards the main road and follow the signs for Staid Abbey, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
Walking
If you are starting from the center of Sligo, you can walk to Staid Abbey by heading west on O'Connell Street. Continue straight onto the R287 road. After about 3.5 kilometers, you will see signs for Agharrow. Keep walking until you reach Staid Abbey, which will be on your left. This is a longer walk, approximately 1 hour, but it allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Sligo City. Follow the same route as when walking, heading west on O'Connell Street towards the R287 road. Cycling is a quicker option and will take approximately 15-20 minutes to reach Staid Abbey from the city center. Be sure to stay on designated paths and be aware of traffic.
