Walking
Start from the center of Sligo town at O'Connell Street. Head east towards the junction with Quay Street and turn left onto Quay Street. Continue walking until you reach the bridge over the River Garavogue. Cross the bridge and follow the road straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the R291, which will take you towards Rosses Point. Follow this road for about 4km. As you approach Rosses Point, keep an eye out for signs directing you to The Metal Man. When you reach the seaside, turn right onto the coast road. The Metal Man is located on a small rocky outcrop at the end of this road. It is approximately a 50-minute walk from the town center.
Public Transport
From Sligo town, make your way to the bus station located on Coach Street. Check the schedule for the next bus heading towards Rosses Point. Buses typically run every 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Rosses Point, disembark at the main stop. From there, walk towards the coast and follow the road until you reach the end, where The Metal Man is situated on a rocky outcrop. The total journey by bus takes approximately 15-20 minutes, followed by a short walk of about 10 minutes.
