If you're traveling by car, start on the N11 road from Dublin. Take the exit for the R761 toward Greystones. Continue on the R761 until you reach the Old Delgany Road. Turn left onto Old Delgany Road, and follow it for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will notice the ruins of Kindlestown Castle on your left. There is limited parking available along the road, so be sure to park carefully.
Public Transportation
To reach Kindlestown Castle by public transportation, take a DART train from Dublin to Greystones Station. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Greystones Station, exit the station and head towards the R761 road. Take a bus (Bus No. 84 or 84X) towards Delgany and get off at the stop near Old Delgany Road. From there, it’s a short 15-minute walk along the Old Delgany Road to reach the castle. Please check the local bus schedules for any changes or costs associated with the fare.
Walking
For those already in Greystones and wishing to walk, start at the center of Greystones and head up the hill towards the R761. Follow Old Delgany Road, which is well signposted. The walk is approximately 3 kilometers and should take about 35-40 minutes. The route is scenic, providing views of the surrounding countryside.
