Getting There

• Bus

  From Douglas, you can take the Bus Vannin service number 3 or 4. Board the bus at the main bus station located on Lord Street. Once on the bus, pay your fare to the driver and sit back for a short ride. Stay on until you reach the stop at Ballasalla, which should take about 25 minutes. Once you get off, head southwest on the A5 road towards the Ballalough area.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from Douglas, start at the central location of the Isle of Man Government offices on Murray's Road. Head south on Murray's Road until you reach the junction with the A2 road. Turn left onto the A2 and follow it out of Douglas. Continue straight for approximately 2 miles until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A5. Follow the A5 for another 1.5 miles and look for signs leading to Ballalough Reedbeds Nature Reserve. The entrance will be on your right.

• Cycling

  For those who wish to cycle, you can rent a bike from local shops in Douglas. Start from the Douglas Promenade and follow the coastal path heading south until you reach the A2 road. Turn left onto the A2 and continue straight for about 2 miles until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A5 and cycle for another 1.5 miles. Look for signs indicating Ballalough Reedbeds Nature Reserve; the entrance will be on your right.
