Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the center of Laxey, start at the Laxey Railway Station. Exit the station and head south towards the main road, the A2. Once you reach the A2, turn left and walk along the road for about 0.3 miles. You will pass by several shops and cafes along the way. Continue walking until you see a sign for Mines Road on your right. Turn onto Mines Road and continue walking for about 0.2 miles. The Laxey Miners Statue will be on your left, located near the entrance of the old mine site. Look out for the statue which is a notable historical landmark.

    Alternatively, if you are near the Laxey Glen Restaurant, exit the restaurant and head towards the river. Follow the riverside path which leads you to the A2. Once you reach the A2, turn right and walk along the road for about 0.4 miles. You will see the turn for Mines Road on your left. Turn left onto Mines Road and continue for about 0.1 miles. The Laxey Miners Statue will be on your left, just before the old mine site.

    If you are coming from Laxey Beach, start by walking up the hill toward the village. Follow the main path that leads to the A2 road. Once you reach the A2, turn right and walk about 0.5 miles. You will see the entrance to Mines Road on your left. Turn left and walk for another 0.1 miles. The Laxey Miners Statue will be on your left, situated prominently near the mining area.
