Getting There

  • Walking

    From the centre of Port St Mary, head northeast on The Promenade towards The Bay. Continue along the coast until you reach the junction at the top of the hill. Turn left onto the A27 road (Main Road) and follow it for about 2.5 miles. You will pass through the village of Port Erin along the way. Keep following the road as it winds through the countryside. Eventually, you will reach Laxey, where you can see signs directing you to the Snaefell Mountain Railway. The railway station is located near the town centre.

    From Port St Mary, walk to the nearest bus stop on The Promenade. Catch the bus number 3 towards Douglas. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes, and alight at the Laxey stop. From the bus stop, walk towards the centre of Laxey, following signs for the Snaefell Mountain Railway. It’s a short walk of about 10 minutes to the railway station.

  • Cycling

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can cycle from Port St Mary to Laxey. Start on The Promenade and follow the coast road, turning onto the A27 (Main Road). The journey is approximately 2.5 miles. The route is relatively flat, making it an enjoyable ride.
