Walking
From Manger Square in Bethlehem, head east on Star Street until you reach the intersection with the main road (Hebron Road). Turn left to follow the road going south. Walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the bus station near the checkpoint to Ma'ale Adumim. Here, you can find shared taxis ('service') that go to Ma'ale Adumim. Board the service and inform the driver you want to go to Mar Saba Monastery. The driver will take you along the route, and approximately 15-20 minutes later, you will be dropped off near the entrance to the monastery. From there, you will need to walk about 1.5 kilometers uphill to reach the monastery itself.
