Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the Caesarea National Park entrance, head straight towards the main path. Follow the signs leading to the ancient ruins. After approximately 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the Roman Theatre. Continue past the theatre, and you will find yourself in the main archaeological area. Keep walking towards the coast, and as you approach the beach area, look for signs indicating 'The Gate' or 'Ancient Port'. The gate is located near the remains of the ancient harbor, so follow the path towards the water, and you will see 'The Gate' ahead.

  • Bicycle

    If you are near the Caesarea Marina, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Once you have your bike, cycle towards the main entrance of Caesarea National Park. Once you reach the entrance, follow the designated bike paths that lead towards the archaeological sites. Approximately 15 minutes of cycling will take you to the area of the Roman Theatre. From there, continue cycling towards the coast, following the signs for 'The Gate'. The path will take you directly to the harbor area where 'The Gate' is located.

  • Public Transport

    Public transport options are limited in Caesarea, but you can take a bus to a nearby town and walk the rest of the way. From central Caesarea, if you take bus number 400 towards Hadera, get off at the 'Caesarea' stop. From there, walk straight towards the main entrance of the National Park. Once inside, follow the paths leading to the main archaeological sites, including the Roman Theatre, and continue towards the coast where 'The Gate' is situated.
