Walking
From the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve entrance, head east on the main path towards the Dead Sea. After about 10-15 minutes of walking, you will reach the Ein Gedi Kibbutz area. At the Kibbutz, look for the signs directing to the bus station. It should take you approximately 20 minutes to reach the station. From there, you can take a bus to Madaba. The bus service is regular, but be sure to check the latest schedules.

Once you're at the Ein Gedi Kibbutz bus station, board a bus heading to Madaba. The journey will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Make sure to inform the driver that you're heading to the Fortress of Machaerus. The bus will drop you off at a nearby stop in Madaba. From there, you might need to ask for directions or use a local map to find the fortress, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
