Car
If you are driving from Amman, take the Desert Highway (Route 15) heading south. After approximately 60 km, take the exit toward Madaba and follow the signs to Madaba. Once in Madaba, continue on the main road until you reach the junction for the Dead Sea Road (Route 65). Follow this road for about 20 km until you see signs for Machaerus. Turn onto the road leading to Machaerus, and follow it for approximately 10 km. You will reach Khirbat Ataruz, located at the coordinates 31.5745° N, 35.6647° E.
Public Transportation
To reach Khirbat Ataruz using public transportation, start from Amman's Abdali Bus Station. Take a bus heading to Madaba. The fare is approximately 1.5 JOD and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Madaba, you may need to take a taxi or a shared minibus heading towards Machaerus. This ride will cost around 4-5 JOD and takes about 20 minutes. Inform the driver that you wish to visit Khirbat Ataruz, and they will drop you off at the nearest point to the archaeological site.
