Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Capernaum located on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee. From Tiberias, take Route 87 north for approximately 20 minutes until you reach Capernaum. Follow the signs for Capernaum National Park. Once you arrive, park in the designated area near the entrance. The Capernaum Synagogue is within walking distance from the parking area.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Capernaum Synagogue via public transportation, take a bus from Tiberias to Capernaum. Buses are available from the central bus station in Tiberias and typically run every hour. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Capernaum bus stop, follow the signs to Capernaum National Park. The synagogue is a short walk from the bus stop.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from nearby towns such as Tiberias or Nazareth. The taxi ride from Tiberias to Capernaum takes around 20 minutes and costs approximately 100-150 NIS (New Israeli Shekels). Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand or confirm that the meter is running.

• Walking

  If you are already in Capernaum, walking to the synagogue is straightforward. From the center of Capernaum, follow the signs leading to Capernaum National Park. The walk is about 10-15 minutes and offers beautiful views of the Sea of Galilee along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as some paths may be uneven.
