Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring Mount Harbel Trail.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are traveling by car, begin by navigating to the town of Tiberias, which is a central location in the Galilee Region. From Tiberias, head north on Route 90 for about 8 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Mount Harbel or 'Harbel Mountain'. Turn left onto the unpaved road leading to the trailhead. There is a small parking area where you can leave your car. Note that the road may be rough in places, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Tiberias to the nearby town of Arbel. Buses such as Egged Line 65 run regularly. Once you arrive in Arbel, you will need to take a taxi or arrange a local shuttle service to reach the Mount Harbel Trailhead. It's advisable to check the local taxi rates beforehand; expect to pay around 50-70 ILS for this short journey. Ensure to confirm the return trip with your taxi driver.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Arbel and prefer walking, you can hike to the Mount Harbel Trailhead. From the center of Arbel, walk towards the Arbel National Park entrance, which is about 2 kilometers away. Follow the signs for Mount Harbel Trail. The path is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area. This walking route may take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace.
