Car
If you are driving from Tiberias, take Route 90 north towards the Jordan Valley. After approximately 30 minutes, turn left onto Route 65. Follow Route 65 until you reach the junction with Route 77. Turn right on Route 77 and continue for about 5 km. Look for signs to Umm Qays (also spelled Qais) as you approach. The site is located at MM4H+762, Ash Shounah Ash Shemaleyah, Jordan. Parking is available near the entrance; however, be aware that you may need to pay a small fee for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Umm Qays using public transport, you can take a bus from Tiberias to Irbid. Look for the bus station located near the Tiberias promenade. Buses to Irbid run frequently and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Irbid bus terminal, you can catch a local taxi or minibus to Umm Qays. The taxi ride from Irbid to Umm Qays should take about 30 minutes. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey; it typically ranges from 50 to 70 NIS (New Israeli Shekels).
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Tiberias to Umm Qays. This option is convenient and can be arranged from your hotel or a local taxi service. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes, and the fare should be negotiated beforehand—expect to pay around 150-200 NIS. This option allows for more flexibility in your schedule.
