If you're driving to the Sea of Galilee, start by navigating to Route 90 (also known as the Dead Sea Road) which runs north from Tiberias. Depending on where you are in the Galilee Region, you can access Route 90 from various points. For example, if you are in Nazareth, take Route 754 to Route 79 and merge onto Route 90. Continue straight until you reach the Sea of Galilee area. There are multiple access points along the lake, including Tiberias and other surrounding towns. Make sure to follow signs for 'Kinneret' or 'Sea of Galilee' as you approach. Parking is available at various locations around the lake, usually at no cost.

Public Transportation - Bus
To reach the Sea of Galilee by public transport, take a bus from your current location to Tiberias. The Egged bus company operates routes throughout the Galilee region. For example, if you are in Nazareth, you can catch bus number 3 to Nazareth Illit and then transfer to bus number 451 towards Tiberias. The journey may take around 1.5 hours depending on transfers and waiting times. Once in Tiberias, you can walk towards the waterfront. There are signs directing you to the Sea of Galilee, and it’s approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus station.

If you're coming from Haifa or Tel Aviv, take a train to Nahariya or Akko, and then switch to a bus to Tiberias. The train ride will take about an hour from Haifa. Once in Tiberias, follow the previously mentioned directions to reach the Sea of Galilee. The bus fare is usually around 20-30 NIS, and the train fare may vary based on your starting point.
