Bus
To reach the West Bank from central Jerusalem, start by heading to the Central Bus Station located at 240 Jaffa Street. From there, take bus number 21 or 24, which are specifically heading towards the West Bank. The buses are frequent, so you should not have to wait long. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic views as you travel. The journey should take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. The bus will take you to checkpoints at the edge of the West Bank, where you will disembark. Note that you may need to go through security checks at the checkpoint.
Shared Taxi (Sherut)
From the Old City area, you can take a shared taxi, known as a Sherut, to the West Bank. Head to the nearest Sherut stop, which is typically located near major attractions. Look for a Sherut that is headed towards Bethlehem or Hebron. These taxis depart when they are full, so you may have a short wait. The ride will take around 30 minutes. Make sure to check with the driver if they can drop you off at your desired location in the West Bank.
Walking and Bus Combination
If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk to the bus stop at the Central Bus Station from your hotel or current location in Jerusalem. Once at the station, take bus number 21 or 24 as mentioned previously. This method allows you to explore the city a bit before heading to the West Bank. Walking to the bus station could take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your proximity to the station.
