Getting there

Public Bus

From the center of Jerusalem, head to the Central Bus Station (Tachanah Merkazit). Look for buses that are heading towards Jericho (Ariha). The bus company Egged operates this route. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Jericho, ask the driver to let you off at the nearest stop to Ain es-sultan Street. From there, follow the signs to the Jericho Cable Car, which should be within a 10-minute walk.

Shared Taxi (Sherut)

Head to the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem and locate the shared taxis (sheruts) that travel to Jericho. These can be found near the main entrance of the bus station. The sherut will depart when it fills up with passengers and will take you directly to Jericho. The trip usually takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Jericho, ask the driver to drop you off at Ain es-sultan Street, where the Jericho Cable Car is located.

Walking from Jericho City Center

If you are already in Jericho, start at the city center (Al-Maghtas area). Head east toward Ain es-sultan Street. Walk along the main road, and you will see signs directing you toward the Jericho Cable Car. The distance is about 1.5 kilometers, which should take around 20-25 minutes on foot.

Local Taxi

If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a local taxi from wherever you are in Jericho. Simply tell the driver to take you to the Jericho Cable Car on Ain es-sultan Street. The taxi ride should be quick and will cost a reasonable fare.
