Mt. Scopus, a stunning mountain peak in Jerusalem, offers breathtaking views and rich historical significance, making it a must-visit for tourists seeking adventure and culture.
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.
Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Jerusalem. From the center of Judea, take Route 1 (Tel Aviv-Jerusalem Highway) towards Jerusalem. Once you reach the city, follow signs for Mount Scopus. You will need to take the exit for Ma'aleh HaZeitim (Olive Hill) and follow the road up towards the mountain. There are parking areas available on the mountain; however, be aware that parking may incur a fee depending on the location.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, you can take a bus from major towns in Judea to Jerusalem. Look for bus lines that service the Jerusalem area; the Egged bus company is the main provider. Once in Jerusalem, you can take bus line 74 or 75 which directly services Mount Scopus. Ensure to check the bus schedule for the most current times and routes. The bus fare typically costs around 6-10 NIS (Israeli New Shekels).
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a rideshare app like Gett or Uber. This is a convenient option, especially if you are traveling with a group or have luggage. The cost will depend on your starting point in Judea, but expect to pay approximately 50-100 NIS for the ride to Mount Scopus.
Use Tower Bridge as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
