Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve entrance. From there, head north on the main path towards the Dead Sea. Continue walking until you reach the bus stop sign for the Ein Gedi Beach area. Catch the bus going to Jerusalem. The ride will take about 1-1.5 hours. Once you reach Jerusalem, disembark at the main bus terminal. From the terminal, take bus number 99 towards the Old City. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop for the Greek Orthodox Monastery located in the Old City.

• Public Transport

  From Ein Gedi, walk to the nearest bus stop which is located near the Ein Gedi Kibbutz. Take the bus heading towards Arad, which will take you to the central bus station in Arad. Once in Arad, transfer to a bus going to Jerusalem. After you arrive in Jerusalem, navigate to the Old City area. You can take bus number 99 or 78 from the central bus station to reach the vicinity of the Greek Orthodox Monastery.

• Combination of Walking and Public Transport

  Begin your journey at the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve. Walk to the main road and catch bus number 444 towards Tel Aviv. This will take you to the nearest major bus station. From there, switch to a bus heading to Jerusalem, such as bus number 480. Once you arrive at the Jerusalem bus terminal, look for signs directing you to the Old City. You can either take a local bus (line 99) or walk approximately 20 minutes through the city to reach the Greek Orthodox Monastery.
