Car
If you are driving, start by entering Jerusalem on Route 1. Follow the signs towards the city center. Once in the city, look for signs pointing towards the Old City. You can park at one of the nearby parking lots such as the Mamilla Mall parking or the Jaffa Gate parking. After parking, you can walk towards Herod's Gate which is about a 15-minute walk from Jaffa Gate. Head northeast on Mamilla Avenue, turn left onto King David Street, and then right onto Sultan Sulayman Street, where you will find Herod's Gate.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, take the light rail from various points in Jerusalem to the 'City Hall' stop. From there, you can catch a bus (lines 1 or 75) that will take you closer to the Old City. Get off at the 'Damascus Gate' stop. From the Damascus Gate, walk northeast along Sultan Sulayman Street for about 10 minutes, and you will reach Herod's Gate.
Taxi or Rideshare
For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or rideshare service (like Gett or Uber) to Herod's Gate. Simply input 'Herod's Gate, Sultan Sulayman St, Jerusalem' as your destination. The fare will vary based on your starting location within Judea, but expect it to be around 30-50 NIS depending on traffic conditions.
