Car
If you are driving from a location within the Judean Desert, head south towards Route 90. Follow Route 90 until you reach the junction with Route 40. Turn left onto Route 40 and continue driving south. You will pass through the scenic landscapes of the desert. After approximately 45 kilometers, you will see signs for the Negev Mountains. Follow these signs, and you will reach the Negev Mountains area. Make sure to fill up on fuel as there are limited service stations in the desert region.
Public Transportation
To reach the Negev Mountains using public transportation, start by taking a bus from your current location in the Judean Desert to the city of Beer Sheva. You can check bus schedules from the Egged website or local stations. Once in Beer Sheva, transfer to a bus heading towards Mitzpe Ramon, which is a gateway to the Negev Mountains. The journey from Beer Sheva to Mitzpe Ramon will take approximately 1 hour. From Mitzpe Ramon, you can take local taxis or join organized tours that will take you into the Negev Mountains.
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from your location in the Judean Desert. Taxis can be arranged via local taxi services or ride-sharing apps. Discuss the price beforehand, as taxi fares can vary significantly. The trip to the Negev Mountains should take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your starting point and traffic conditions.
