The Majestic Shrine of the Báb: A Spiritual Haven in Haifa

Getting There

• Car

  To reach the Shrine of the Báb by car, start on Route 4 from any part of the Northern District. Follow Route 4 south until you reach Haifa. Take the exit towards Haifa (Route 22). Continue on Route 22 and then take the exit for Route 4 (signs for Haifa). As you approach Haifa, follow the signs for the Bahá’í Gardens, which will lead you to the shrine. There is parking available near the entrance to the gardens, but be aware that there may be a parking fee. From the parking lot, it is a short walk to the shrine itself.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, take a bus or train to Haifa from your starting point in the Northern District. The main train station in Haifa is called Haifa Hof HaCarmel. From the station, you can take bus number 37 or 43 towards the Bahá’í Gardens. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the train station directly to the Shrine of the Báb, which should cost around 30-50 shekels, depending on traffic. Once at the gardens, follow the signs to the shrine, which is located on the upper terraces.

• Walking

  If you're already in Haifa, you can reach the Shrine of the Báb on foot. From the main pedestrian street, HaNamal Street, head towards the Bahá’í Gardens. The entrance to the gardens is located at 1, Yefe Nof Street. Enter through the gardens, and follow the paths leading up to the shrine. Keep in mind that the gardens are terraced and may involve some uphill walking, so wear comfortable shoes.
