Car
If you are driving from the Red Sea Coral Reef area, start by heading south on Route 12. Follow the signs for Eilat. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the border crossing into Egypt. Note that you will need your passport and may have to pay a small fee for the border crossing. Once you cross into Egypt, continue on Route 1 toward Saint Catherine. Abu Galoum is located near the town of Saint Catherine. Follow the signs to Abu Galoum, and you will reach the nature preserve. Be aware that the roads may be unpaved near the preserve, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended.

Public Transportation
To reach Abu Galoum using public transportation, first take a bus from Eilat to Taba. Buses run regularly throughout the day. Once you arrive in Taba, you will need to cross the border into Egypt, so ensure you have your passport and any necessary visa requirements. After crossing, take a bus or taxi to Saint Catherine. From Saint Catherine, you can hire a local taxi or arrange for a guided tour that includes transportation to Abu Galoum. Be prepared for additional costs, as taxi fares may vary and guided tours typically charge per person.

If you prefer not to drive the entire way, consider taking a bus from Eilat to Sharm El Sheikh. From there, you can find local transport options that take you to Saint Catherine.
