Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey on the SS244 road towards Badia. This road will take you through the scenic Val Badia valley. Once you reach Badia, follow the signs for 'Lago di Lagazuoi' or 'Lagazuoisee'. There are parking areas available near the trailhead, but note that there may be a parking fee of approximately €5 to €10 per day. After parking, you will need to hike approximately 30 minutes on a well-marked trail to reach Lagazuoisee.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from nearby towns like Corvara or San Cassiano to Badia. Check the local bus schedules for the most current routes and times, as they might vary by season. Once you arrive in Badia, look for the signs directing you to the Lagazuoi cable car station. From there, you can take the cable car to the top of Mount Lagazuoi. The cable car ticket costs around €20 for a round trip. After disembarking, follow the marked trail that leads down to Lagazuoisee, which is about a 20-minute walk.

• Hiking

  If you're already on the Alta Via 1 trail, make your way towards the Lagazuoisee trailhead. The hike from the Alta Via 1 route involves following the marked paths toward Lagazuoi, keeping an eye out for signage that indicates the trail to the lake. This part of the trail is moderate in difficulty and can take about 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace. Be sure to bring sufficient water and snacks, as there are no facilities along this stretch.
