Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Bolzano. Drive towards Via della Stazione and then take the SS12 towards Via Monte Tondo. Follow SS12 for approximately 3 km. Upon reaching Via Monte Tondo, turn left and continue for about 500 meters. Castel Hörtenberg will be on your right. Parking is available nearby, but be prepared to pay for parking in the city.
Public Transportation
To reach Castel Hörtenberg using public transportation, take a bus from the Bolzano central station (Stazione di Bolzano). Look for bus line 10 or 12 that heads towards the Renon area. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Get off at the 'Via Monte Tondo' stop. From there, it is a short walk (around 500 meters) to Castel Hörtenberg, which will be on your right. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest times. A single ticket costs approximately €1.50.
Walking
If you're already in Bolzano and prefer to walk, start from the main square, Piazza Walther. Head south towards Via della Stazione and continue onto SS12. Follow this road for about 2.5 km. When you reach Via Monte Tondo, turn left and walk for another 500 meters. Castel Hörtenberg will be on your right. The walk will take around 30-40 minutes, offering a chance to enjoy the scenery along the way.
