Car
From Aosta, take the A5 motorway towards Courmayeur. After about 33 km, take the exit for La Thuile (Exit 30). Continue on the SS26 for about 10 km until you reach the town of La Thuile. Once in La Thuile, follow the signs for Frazione Entreves. The road will lead you through the town; continue until you reach Frazione Entreves, where Rutor Falls is located. There are parking areas available near the waterfall entrance, but be sure to check for any parking fees which may apply.
Public Transportation
From Aosta, take the regional bus service (SIT Bus) towards La Thuile. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at La Thuile, you can either walk (approximately 3 km) to Rutor Falls or take a local taxi. If you choose to walk, head towards the village center and follow the signs directing you to Frazione Entreves. The walk is scenic but may take about 40-50 minutes depending on your pace. Be aware that taxi fares may vary, so it’s advisable to check the price beforehand.
Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous and are already in La Thuile, you can hike to Rutor Falls. Starting from the center of La Thuile, head towards Frazione Entreves and follow the well-marked hiking trails. The trail is about 4 km long and should take around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the falls, with beautiful views along the way. Make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and bring water. There are no fees for hiking, but do check local maps for the best routes.
