If you are in the center of Arezzo, head towards Piazza Grande, which is a well-known square. From Piazza Grande, walk straight down Via Roma until you reach the intersection with Via Giuseppe Garibaldi. Turn right onto Via Giuseppe Garibaldi and continue walking until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Via della Libertà. Follow this road until you see signs for Città di Castello. The journey will take approximately 20-25 minutes on foot. Once you reach the edge of town, you can catch a local bus that will take you directly to Città di Castello.
Bus
From Arezzo, you can take a bus to Città di Castello. Head to the Arezzo bus station located near the train station. Purchase a ticket for Città di Castello from the ticket counter or vending machine. Buses to Città di Castello run regularly throughout the day. Make sure to check the schedule for the next available bus. The bus ride will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Once you arrive at the Città di Castello bus station, it is a short 10-minute walk to Town Hall located at Piazza Venanzio Gabriotti, 1A.
Train
Though there is no direct train to Città di Castello, you can take a train from Arezzo to the nearest train station, which is Sansepolcro. From Arezzo train station, board a train heading towards Sansepolcro. Once you arrive at Sansepolcro, exit the station and catch a local bus to Città di Castello. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. After arriving at Città di Castello, it is a short walk to the Town Hall at Piazza Venanzio Gabriotti, 1A.
