Walking
From the center of Assisi, start at the main square, Piazza del Comune. Head east on Via Portica and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via San Francesco. Turn left onto Via San Francesco and continue walking until you reach the Basilica di San Francesco. From the basilica, take Via Frate Elia, which leads you out of the city. Once you exit, follow the signs for Via del Tezio. This road will lead you toward Monte Tezio. It is about a 45-minute walk from the basilica to the base of Monte Tezio.
Bus
From Assisi, walk to the bus station located at Via Giovanni Falcone. Take the bus towards Perugia (line 5 or 6, depending on the schedule). Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop 'Montelaguardia' or ask for directions to Monte Tezio. Once you arrive, you might need to walk a little further to reach the hiking trails leading up Monte Tezio.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the center of Assisi and take Via San Francesco towards the basilica. Once you reach the basilica, continue on Via Frate Elia, which will take you out of the town. Keep following the signs as you cycle on Via del Tezio, enjoying the scenic route. It will take about 30 minutes of cycling to reach the base of Monte Tezio.
