Train
From Bari Centrale train station, purchase a ticket to Polignano a Mare at the ticket counter or through the self-service machines. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Polignano a Mare station, exit the station and head towards Via Giuseppe Garibaldi. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the cliffside. From there, follow the coastal path south for approximately 1 kilometer, and you will see signs directing you to Grotta Piana.
Bus
From the Bari Central Bus Station (Piazza Aldo Moro), take the 'Ferrovie del Sud Est' bus towards Polignano a Mare. The bus ride lasts about 50 minutes. Once you arrive in Polignano a Mare, disembark at the main bus stop. Walk towards the historical center and then follow Via Roma towards the coast. Continue walking until you reach the cliff area, and look for signs indicating the direction to Grotta Piana, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike in Bari. Start from Piazza del Ferrarese, head towards Via Venezia, and follow the signs for the coastal bike path. This scenic route will take you through beautiful landscapes and will lead you directly to Polignano a Mare. The distance is approximately 33 km and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Upon arriving in Polignano, park your bike and walk towards the coast to reach Grotta Piana.
