Car

If you are driving, start from Potenza, the capital of Basilicata. Take the SS658 towards Melfi. Continue on SS658 for approximately 37 km. As you enter Melfi, follow the signs to the city center. Once you reach the center, look for Via Normanni where Melfi Castle is located. There is parking available nearby.

Public Transportation

To reach Melfi Castle by public transport, take a regional train from Potenza to Melfi. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Melfi train station, exit the station and walk towards the town center. It is approximately a 15-minute walk to Via Normanni where Melfi Castle is located. You can follow the signs for the castle or ask locals for directions.

Car

If you are coming from Matera, take the SS7 towards Melfi. After around 60 km, follow signs to Melfi. Once in Melfi, drive towards the city center, and look for Via Normanni. Melfi Castle will be on your left side as you approach the area. There are parking options available in the vicinity.

Public Transportation

From Matera, take a bus to Melfi. The bus service is available and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival at the Melfi bus station, walk towards the town center, which is about a 20-minute walk. Follow the signs to Via Normanni to reach Melfi Castle.
