Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Bergamo train station (Stazione di Bergamo), exit the station and walk towards the bus stop located just outside. Take bus number 1 or 1A towards 'Città Alta'. The bus will take you to the top of the hill where the old town (Città Alta) is located. Once you arrive at the 'Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe' stop, disembark and walk straight ahead to the main square, 'Piazza Vecchia'. From there, walk towards the 'Piazza Duomo', which is just a short stroll away. The Bergamo Cathedral will be prominently located in this square.

Funicular
From the lower town (Città Bassa), you can take the funicular from 'Viale Vittorio Emanuele II' to 'Piazza della Repubblica' in the upper town (Città Alta).
