Walking
If you are in the Città Bassa (Lower Town), make your way to the funicular station 'Funicolare Città Alta' located at Viale Vittorio Emanuele II. Take the funicular up to Città Alta (Upper Town). Once you arrive at the top, exit the funicular and walk straight down Viale Vittorio Emanuele II until you reach Piazza della Cittadella. From here, continue walking straight to the main square, Piazza Vecchia, which is about a 10-minute walk. In the square, you will find the Palazzo della Ragione and the Torre Civica. From Piazza Vecchia, head towards the left of the square to Via Colleoni, and continue walking until you reach Piazza Duomo. The Bergamo Cathedral is located right in the center of Piazza Duomo.
Public Transport
If you are in the Città Bassa, take Bus 1 or 1A from any bus stop towards Città Alta. The bus will drop you off near the funicular station. From the funicular station, take the funicular to Città Alta. After exiting the funicular, follow the same walking directions as mentioned above: walk straight down Viale Vittorio Emanuele II to Piazza della Cittadella, then to Piazza Vecchia, and finally to Piazza Duomo where the Bergamo Cathedral is located.
