Public Transport
If you're in Bologna, head to the Bologna Centrale Train Station. From there, take a train to Modena, which typically takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Modena train station, exit and look for the bus stop just outside the station. Take Bus 6 towards 'Vignolese' and get off at the 'Viale Vittorio Veneto' stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk: head south on Viale Vittorio Veneto, then take a right onto Via Emilia. Continue straight until you reach Largo Porta Sant'Agostino, where you'll find Palazzo dei Musei and Galleria Estense.
Walking
If you find yourself near the historic center of Bologna, you can walk to the Galleria Estense. Start from Piazza Maggiore, the main square. Head east along Via Rizzoli, which will lead you directly to the intersection with Via Emilia. Turn left on Via Emilia and continue walking until you reach Largo Porta Sant'Agostino. The Galleria Estense is located at Palazzo dei Musei, which will be on your right as you approach the square.

For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from your location in Bologna to Galleria Estense in Modena. Just tell the driver to take you to 'Palazzo dei Musei, Largo Porta Sant'Agostino 337, Modena'. The taxi ride should take approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
