Walking
If you are starting from the central train station (Bologna Centrale), exit the station and head to the main street, Via dell'Indipendenza. Walk straight along this street for about 15 minutes until you reach Piazza Maggiore, the main square of Bologna. From Piazza Maggiore, take the street Via Rizzoli and continue walking for about 5 minutes until you see the beautiful Basilica di San Petronio on your left. Continue straight ahead and take the first street on your right, Via Galvani. After a short walk, you will arrive at Piazza Galvani.
Public Transport
From the central train station (Bologna Centrale), you can take the bus line 25 or 30. Board the bus at the station and get off at the stop called 'Rizzoli'. This will take about 10 minutes. Once you get off, walk straight along Via Rizzoli for approximately 5 minutes until you reach Piazza Maggiore. Continue forward and take the first right onto Via Galvani. You will soon arrive at Piazza Galvani.
Taxi
If you prefer a more comfortable option, you can catch a taxi from anywhere in Bologna. Simply tell the driver 'Piazza Galvani'. The taxi will take you directly to the square, and the journey should take around 10 minutes depending on traffic. This is a great option if you have luggage or prefer not to walk.
