If you are starting from the Bologna Centrale train station, exit the station and head towards Viale Pietramellara. Turn right onto Via Indipendenza and continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass various shops and cafes along the way. Keep an eye out for the large square ahead as you approach Piazza Maggiore. From Piazza Maggiore, walk towards Via Rizzoli, and then turn left onto Via Ugo Bassi. Continue straight until you reach Piazza Rossini, which will be on your right.

From the Bologna Centrale train station, take bus number 25 from the bus stop outside the station. Stay on the bus for 5 stops (approximately 10 minutes) and alight at 'Piazza Malpighi'. From there, walk straight towards Via Zamboni, and continue until you reach Piazza Rossini, which is a short walk ahead on your left. The bus service is frequent, and you can purchase tickets at the station or from ticket machines.
