Car
From Bormio, head south on Via Milano towards the SS38. Continue on the SS38 for approximately 30 kilometers. Follow the signs for Sondrio, then merge onto the SS36 in direction of Lecco. After about 12 kilometers, take the exit towards Tirano/Pontresina. Continue on the SP29 which will lead you directly to Pontresina. Once in Pontresina, follow the signs for Morteratsch Glacier, which is located about 8 kilometers from the town center.
Public Transportation
From Bormio, take the bus from the Bormio bus station to Tirano. The journey will take about 1 hour. Once in Tirano, transfer to a train heading towards Pontresina. The train ride will take around 30 minutes. After arriving in Pontresina, you can take a local bus or taxi to reach Morteratsch Glacier, which is approximately 8 kilometers from the town.
