Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main square in Amalfi, Piazza del Duomo, head towards the sea and take the stairs down to the beach. Once you reach the beach, turn left and walk along the waterfront until you reach the ferry terminal. At the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for Pozzuoli. The ferry ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Pozzuoli, follow the signs towards Rione Terra, which is a short walk from the ferry terminal. You will see the historical site as you approach, located on a hill.

  • Bus

    From Amalfi, walk to the nearest bus stop located near the Piazza del Duomo. Take the SITA bus towards Naples. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 hours. Get off at the Pozzuoli stop. Once you have disembarked, follow the signs to Rione Terra, which is about a 15-minute walk. You will need to walk uphill a bit to reach the entrance of Rione Terra.

  • Train

    First, take a local bus or walk to the nearest train station, which is in Salerno. From Amalfi, you can take the SITA bus to Salerno train station, which takes about 1 hour. At Salerno train station, purchase a ticket for the train to Napoli Centrale. The train ride will take about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Napoli Centrale, transfer to the Metro Line 2 towards Pozzuoli. Get off at the Pozzuoli stop, and from there, it is a short walk to Rione Terra, following the signs.
