Villa Donn'Anna, also known as Palazzo Donn'Anna, emerged from the rocky Posillipo shoreline in 1642, commissioned by Anna Carafa, Princess of Stigliano. Married to Spanish Viceroy Ramiro Núñez de Guzmán, she envisioned a grand seaside residence inspired by Venetian palaces. Architect Cosimo Fanzago designed it rising directly from the sea on three sides, but construction halted after her untimely death in 1644, leaving it eternally unfinished[1][3][11][12].
