If you are starting from the Piazzetta, the main square in Capri, head down Via Vittorio Emanuele, which is the street directly in front of you when you exit the square. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn left onto Via Roma and continue walking until you reach the end of this street. You will see a sign for the Gardens of Augustus. Follow the signs towards Via Matteotti.

From the Marina Grande (the main port), exit the port area and follow the path up the hill to the funicular railway station. Take the funicular to the top station, which will take you to the main area of Capri. Once you exit the funicular, walk straight towards Piazzetta and follow the directions above to reach Via Matteotti.
