Car
From Cervinia, get onto the SS26 road heading towards Aosta. Continue on the SS26 for about 22 km until you reach the town of Chatillon. From Chatillon, take the SP38 road towards Valtournenche. After about 13 km, you will arrive in Valtournenche. Continue straight through the town and follow the signs for Zermatt. Note that Zermatt is a car-free village, so you will need to park your car in Täsch, which is about 5 km from Zermatt. In Täsch, take the train (Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn) to Zermatt, which takes about 12 minutes. Upon arrival in Zermatt, follow the signs to the Grünsee area, which is approximately a 30-minute walk from the train station.
Public Transportation
From Cervinia, take a bus to Chatillon, which runs frequently. Once in Chatillon, transfer to the train station and board the train (Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn) heading to Zermatt. The train journey takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes. After arriving in Zermatt, exit the train station and follow the signs for the Grünsee area. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the station, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
