From the town of Gaiole in Chianti, head northwest on Via Roma (SP 27) for about 1.5 km. Continue straight on SP 27 until you reach the junction with Via Ama. Turn left onto Via Ama and follow the road for approximately 3 km until you see the signs for Castello di Ama on your right. There is parking available on-site.
Public Transport
Take a bus from Siena to Gaiole in Chianti. The bus is operated by Tiemme and runs several times a day. Once you arrive at the Gaiole bus station, you can either walk (about 3 km) or take a taxi to Castello di Ama. To walk, head northwest on Via Roma and then turn left onto Via Ama, following the road until you see Castello di Ama on your right. Be prepared for a hilly walk.
