Train and Hike
Start your journey from any of the five Cinque Terre villages. If you are in Monterosso al Mare, take the train to La Spezia Centrale (about 15 minutes). From La Spezia, catch a bus to Porto Venere, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Once in Porto Venere, head towards the trailhead near the church of San Pietro. Follow the signs for the hiking trail that leads to MonteMuzzerone. The hike will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, and the views are spectacular.

From any of the Cinque Terre villages, take the train to La Spezia. From La Spezia, take a ferry to Porto Venere (about 30-50 minutes depending on the schedule). Once you arrive in Porto Venere, walk towards the hiking trail that leads up to MonteMuzzerone. The trail starts near the church of San Pietro and will take you about 1.5 to 2 hours to hike up to the summit.
Bus and Hike
If you are in Riomaggiore, take the train to La Spezia. From La Spezia, catch a bus to Porto Venere. Once you arrive in Porto Venere, walk towards the trailhead located near the church of San Pietro. Begin your hike to MonteMuzzerone, which will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Be prepared for some steep sections, but the views make it worth it!
