Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Porto Venere, start by heading towards the waterfront promenade. Walk along the promenade towards the harbor, enjoying the views of the colorful buildings. Continue walking until you reach the main square, Piazza Spallanzani. From there, take the narrow street that leads uphill, Via Giuseppe Garibaldi. Follow this road as it winds upwards. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will see the signs for Doria Castle (Castello Doria) on your left. Continue on this path, and you will arrive at the entrance of the castle.

Public Transport (Bus and Walking)
If you are coming from La Spezia, take the bus from La Spezia to Porto Venere. The buses are frequent and will drop you near the waterfront in Porto Venere. Once you arrive, follow the waterfront promenade towards the main square, Piazza Spallanzani. From there, take the uphill path via Giuseppe Garibaldi. After a 10-minute walk, watch for signs directing you to Doria Castle on your left. Continue following the path to reach the castle.
