Train
From any of the Cinque Terre villages (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, or Riomaggiore), head to the nearest train station. Purchase a ticket for La Spezia, which is typically a short ride of about 5-10 minutes. Once you arrive at La Spezia Centrale station, exit the station and head towards the main street, Corso Cavour. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via XX Settembre, then turn left. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes, and you will arrive at Piazza Mentana, where you can enjoy the local atmosphere.
Ferry
Take a ferry from your current Cinque Terre village (check the local ferry schedule for departures). The ferry ride to La Spezia typically takes around 30-50 minutes, depending on the village you are departing from. Once you arrive at La Spezia's ferry terminal, disembark and walk towards the main street, Corso Cavour. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Via XX Settembre, then turn left. Continue straight for another few minutes to reach Piazza Mentana.
Walking
If you are in La Spezia and want to explore on foot, start at La Spezia Centrale train station. Exit the station and head towards the main street, Corso Cavour. Walk straight along Corso Cavour until you reach the intersection with Via XX Settembre. Turn left onto Via XX Settembre and continue walking straight for about 10 minutes. You will arrive at Piazza Mentana, a lively square perfect for relaxation and people-watching.
