Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from the center of Cortina d'Ampezzo, head northwest on Corso Italia. Continue straight until you reach the turnoff for SS51 towards Passo Tre Croci. Follow SS51 for about 8 kilometers, then turn left onto the road leading to Rifugio Nuvolau. There is a parking area at the base of the trail. Please note that parking may incur a fee, usually around €5-€10 for the day.

  • Public Transportation

    From the main bus station in Cortina d'Ampezzo, take bus number 30 towards Passo Falzarego. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the 'Passo Falzarego' stop. From there, follow the trail marked 'Sentiero 441' that leads up to Rifugio Nuvolau. The trail is well-marked and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to hike. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear as the terrain can be rocky.
