Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey in the town of Canazei, which is a popular base for exploring the Dolomites. From Canazei, take the SS48 road (also known as the Strada Dolomiti) heading east. Follow the signs for Passo Ombretta. You will drive through some scenic areas. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will reach the junction for Passo Ombretta. Follow the signs to Passo Ombretta (approximately 5 kilometers from the junction). Please note that parking may have a fee, so check local signs for any applicable charges.
Public Transportation
To get to Passo Ombretta using public transportation, you can take a bus from Canazei. Look for the local bus service that operates routes to the nearby mountain passes. Buses may not run frequently, so it’s advisable to check the schedule in advance. You will likely need to transfer buses at the Val di Fassa station. From there, take a connecting bus heading towards Passo Ombretta. The total journey time may take approximately 1-1.5 hours, depending on connections. Be aware that bus fares apply, so have some cash or a travel card ready.
