Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards the A1 motorway. Depending on your starting point in Emilia-Romagna Riviera, follow the signs for Bologna and take the exit for San Giovanni in Persiceto. Continue on Via San Giovanni until you reach Circonvallazione Dante. Porta Garibaldi is located at Circonvallazione Dante, 40017 San Giovanni in Persiceto. There are parking spaces available nearby, but be sure to check for any parking fees in the area.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, take a train from your nearest station to Bologna Centrale. From Bologna Centrale, transfer to a regional train heading towards Modena and get off at San Giovanni in Persiceto station. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at San Giovanni in Persiceto, you can either walk (about 10-15 minutes) or take a local bus (Bus No. 1) to reach Porta Garibaldi, located at Circonvallazione Dante. Be aware that train tickets cost around €3-€5, and local bus fares are approximately €1.50.

• Bus

  If you prefer to travel by bus, check for regional bus services that run from various towns along the Riviera to San Giovanni in Persiceto. Make sure to board a bus that stops at the main station in San Giovanni in Persiceto. Once at the bus station, it's a short walk to Porta Garibaldi located on Circonvallazione Dante.
